A magnitude-3.0 temblor was recorded early Tuesday morning in waters off the leeward side of the Big Island.

A magnitude-3.0 temblor was recorded early Tuesday morning in waters off the leeward side of the Big Island.

The earthquake, which struck at 2:24 a.m., was centered 25.2 miles west-northwest of Kawaihae, according to the U.S. Geological Survey Hawaiian Volcano Observatory. It had a registered depth of 4.7 miles.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center did not release an advisory following the earthquake.
